I am sorry if anyone was inconvenienced Wednesday morning. The pictures were reschedule late Tuesday and I was leaving for the Bosco meet.

Any Way --------Yearbook photos will be taken on Tuesday, February 6th at 2:35 (after school). If you do not have an order form, please see Coach Apodaca. Varsity guys remind Coach daily to get the new uniforms and warm-ups distributed to Varsity. That’s the way it is supposed to be done, so remind him! Otherwise, I’ll see you on Saturday.

Stat Girls ------ I have order forms for you. If you see Natalie get one from her.

The Santa Margarita Meet has been rescheduled for Thursday January 25th at 1:00 pm.

I am unable to set-up and attend the beginning of the matches due to a prior commitment. I have inventory in my garage for the snack bar. So unless someone else can step in for me the snack bar will not happen.

Hi!

Just letting you know that the Santa Margarita Meet has been rescheduled for Friday the 26th. Let your friends know and let’s “pack the house”. This will be an exciting meet!

Snack bar – we could use a few more crock pots if anyone can let us borrow theirs.

Stat girls – we will meet at 4:00 on Friday to make signs, set up and for those of you that volunteered, practice the National Anthem.

Coach has envelopes for the yearbook photo and individual shots. If you see him, ask for one otherwise hopefully, I will have them on Friday. Please let Karla Calderon, Jacque Perez and Hilda Vega know.

You should wear the MD wrestling polo and if you have them the warm-ups. I have a few extra that you can borrow for pictures, if you do not have a polo shirt.

Hello,

This correspondence is an attempt to tie up the loose ends. I have attached a copy of the new roster. I hope it is accurate as possible. Please check with other people if I have omitted them from the list or if you know they have email.

This Tuesday the freshman has a dual meet at Irvine, so we wish them luck. On Thursday we have the meet we have all been waiting for – Santa Margarita at 6pm. We are planning to have the meet be a little more formal than the last one. I am planning to arrive at school at 4:00 to work with the Stat Girls, but this is the plan:

JV team will wrestle National Anthem sung by a group of MD students Prayer (Father Steve has a wedding rehearsal that night. Any volunteers?) Senior presentation (with flowers and pictures for the seniors moms if all the senior parents or grandparents attend?) Varsity Drill (with music and more!) Varsity matches Conclusion of the 50/50 raffle ( if we decide to do it)

Other stuff you should know: Tom Cottage, with the help of the Stat Girls, is making a Balloon Arch (Very cool!) The Stat Girls have made posters for around campus and will make banners for the meet on Thursday Help, ideas and donations for HOT food for the snack bar. We have Gatorade, soda, water, and candy in inventory. We usually do hot dogs, and nachos with chili or cheese combinations.

Don, would you please get a head start on next week? I think this week we can just use the meet as a "dress rehearsal" for B. Montgomery and Santa Margarita. Merry Christmas to all of you and Blessings for the New Year!

I hope you are all enjoying the holidays. I know I am resting more than usual and my foot seems to be healing fine. I should be up and “running” by the time school is in session again.

Our first league dual meet is away at B. Amat on Jan 4 with the next meet against St Bernard coming up fast on the 11th at home. They are coming up faster than we think! January and February are big months for the wrestling team.

Several parents and team members have volunteered their talents for the home meets. I think it would be a good idea for the parents to meet on Jan3rd to get really organized for the meets to run smoothly. We have many Stat Girls who are ready and willing to do what is needed, so if we parents can provide the direction, we have plenty of help.

Parent Meeting at Mater Dei, Rm. 508, after practice around 6:30 pm.

Stat Girls This is a great opportunity for your parents to find out what this is all about. Please encourage them to come also.

These are some things to consider and people that have already stepped forward to help:

Meet Coordinator (oversees and assists the following along with the direction of the coaches):

Snack Bar (Marietta Napial, Arthur and Sally Aguilar, Nancy Cottage, Anamarie Brunning) We have plenty of soda, and candy. We will need to supply, hotdogs, buns, nachos and cheese, Gatorade, and homemade goodies and anything else that sounds good. Any ideas?

Pasta Meal (for Varsity): Patty Paquette

Door/General Admission: Gilbert Arevalos

Music/Announcer Sound System: Alex and Andy Messina Stat Girls are organizing to sing the National Anthem

50/50 Raffle: Stat Girls can help with sales throughout the meet

Banners and Balloons: Tom Cottage Stat Girls will help with painting, assembly, decorations and cheers.

Photography: Coach Corey is quite involved with this, but the more the merrier

The team really appreciates your efforts and personally, I can say I have met so many wonderful devoted parents. It is quite a rewarding experience. If you can think of anything else or have questions, please call or email.

It is imperitive that you discuss the options with your parents and get back to me ASAP! The order has to be placed with the embroiderer by Tuesday Dec 19. We are in the process of selecting polo shirts and warm-ups for the team. The Varsity Warm-ups will be purchased with funds from the school and will belong to the school. If your wrestler wants a personalized warm-up and/or shirt with logo, please let me know. Coach Corey has sized some of the wrestlers at practice. The cost will be somewhere around $100 with monogramming, personalization and tackle twill stitching on the back. Time is a factor in getting them by the time we have a met with Bishop Amat, so let us know ASAP. Susan
